Truffles or Philosophers Stones are the underground growths or ‘sclerotia’ of certain Psilocybe mushroom species. Shroom guru Paul Stammets figured out how to cultivate them … and the rest is psychedelic history. Magic Truffles contain high quantities of the visionary psilocybin. We stock the most popular varieties available.
The Psilocybe Mexicana is probably the most well-known psilocybin mushroom strain that develops sclerotia, also called magic truffles. This variety is rather mild, but will give you warm fuzzy feelings and a powerloaded and happy trip full of creativity and - at high doses - spiritual enlightenment. On a scale of 5, the strength of Psilocybe Mexicana ranks at 2.5
The psilocybe Fantasia is "food for fantasy" and is known for its heavy visuals and twisted, sometimes bizarre, thoughts. You will encounter deeper colors, bending furniture and a warm, euphoric vibe and shivers that rush through your whole body from time to time. It takes only 7,5-10 grams to perceive the world with altered senses. We give this strain a 3 in strength on a 5 scale.
The meaning of the Spanish term Pajaritos is "little birds" and refers to the small size of the individual sclerotium. But don't get fooled by the cute name - these magic truffles will make those little birds twitter in your brain bowl. 7,5 grams are sufficient for a nice first experience on a philosophical, creative and social trip. With a 3 of 5 rating a mild to medium strong strain.
The psilocybe Mokum provides a highly creative and philosophical, social trip, similar to the effect of the psilocybe Tampanensis, but stronger. Locals often call Amsterdam Mokum and since this strain is a local specialty from Amsterdam, it has been named Mokum. Psilocybin Mokum truffles have a medium effect - we classified it as a 3.5 on our 5 finger scale.
The psilocybe Tampanensis is perfectly suited for advanced psychonauts. This variety was first found in Tampa, Florida in 1977 and is well-known as "Philosopher's Stones". On our 5 finger scale, we give it a 3.5 - a medium strong strain that provides strong visuals, creative thinking and a feeling of being close to nature and linked to your fellow psychonauts.
The psilocybe Atlantis was found in Fulton County, Georgia (US) and is closely related to the psilocybe Mexicana, but is much stronger. Taking magic truffles of the psilocybe Atlantis will make your creativity bloom and open your mind for different thinking while your eyes feast on a new reality. Those effects are accompanied with a warm, fuzzy feeling of euphoria. Strength: 4 of 5.
The psilocybe Pandora is #3 in our list of strength - only the Hollandia and Utopia varieties are stronger. 7,5 grams of these mind-expanding magic truffles are enough to get a grasp of "a different kind of reality", with odd thoughts and sharpened senses. Very philosophic trains of thoughts, creativity and a social feeling accompanied with warm euphoria. Strength: 4.5 of 5.
The psilocybe Hollandia is one of our most powerful strains. These very strong nodules reach the full score on our 5 finger scale - this is the top of the charts. One pack of 15 grams is enough for two strong trips with - ideal for an experience with your most trusted buddy. You will share an undescribable feeling of euphoria, closeness and solidarity and creative thinking.
The psilocybe Utopia is a straight 5 out of 5 on the power scale. This strain can provide you with a ticket to a magic world. Only a few grams of these power-loaded nodules and you will see the world in a different light and angle, your brain shifts to a higher gear and produces deep thoughts and even with closed eyes the perception remains bright and colorful.
Nicknamed the ‘Philosopher’s Stone’ due to the profound thoughts and insights it can inspire, the Psilocybe tampanensis was the first truffle discovered and cultivated. Despite their ‘philosophical’ reputation, the laughs, euphoria and intense visuals associated with magic mushroom use are also present. Mood and setting remain important folks!
The mildest truffle in our range and a great variety to start with if you’re an aspiring psychonaut (or just curious). Psilocybe mexicana promise a pleasantly euphoric trip and overall feelings of jollity and contentment. Used in Mexican religious ceremonies since long before the Spanish conquistadores arrived, it was the first mushroom in which psilocybin was discovered.
Psilocybe atlantis is closely related to the mexicana, but stronger. Also known as the ‘Fruits of Utopia’, the atlantis is noted for the vividness of its visual effects; beautiful and filled with colour this has led them to be favoured by the more experienced shroomer. This truffle variety also has a taste and aroma that many find more appealing than the other varieties.
Pajaritos is Spanish for ‘little bird’, a name the variety was given for their effect of making you feel like one (in the sense of thoughts fluttering happily around your mind, NOT for being able to fly!). Also known as Mayan Magic, some users do report mild hallucinations with this variety.
As its name suggests, Psilocybe hollandia is a new truffle developed and grown in the Netherlands by the country’s leading truffle producer. Nearly twice as strong as the other varieties, it’s already popular with experienced shroomers looking for a longer trip with more intense visuals (which hollandia delivers more reliably).
Magic truffles are an acquired taste, to say the least. Chomping down on them releases the flavor molecules, and if you are sensitive to the taste, you might find chewing your truffles to be quite a task. This Magic Truffle Grinder made by Zamnesia will solve that issue with a quick twist.
