Though a tad more expensive, the hollandia does offer more bang for your buck – you can easily squeeze two trips from one 15 gram pack (in fact it’s recommended that all but the most experienced trippers stick to a half pack).

The taste has also been improved with a special growing method. The hollandia still has the nutty truffle flavour but without the sourness of other varieties.

HOLLANDIA TRUFFLE EFFECTS

As a rule, all truffles have a high level of psilocybin in them, so the effects of all of them are broadly similar. But P. Hollandia is the exception. With twice the level of psilocybin, its visual effects are more colourful and overwhelming than any other variety, and the trip will be longer than the usual 4-6 hours (but not double).

Effects will be felt within 15-45 minutes of consumption, depending on how many you took and how long since your last meal. A typical trip consists of a ‘coming up’ period, an experience plateau, followed by a gradual descent back to normal consensus reality.

The effects include: outbursts of hilarity, changed colour and sound perception, introspective thoughts, feelings of universal connectedness, waves of energy coursing through the body, vivid visions with eyes closed.

TRUFFLE INGREDIENTS

The active ingredient in truffles is psilocybin, a triptamine similar in structure to our bodies’ naturally produced neurotransmitter, DMT. There are no poisonous byproducts or metabolites created – psilocybin is ridiculously non-toxic - so no hangover. But you may look at life a little differently the next day!

TRUFFLE USAGE

Hollandia are sold in a duo-pack of 2 x 7.5 grams so you can easily split the 15 grams of truffle. Although this weight may be reduced as water is lost during shipping & storage, the effects are the same.

Truffles are sold fresh so you need to keep them in the refrigerator until you use them. Take 7.5 grams for a normal trip and 10 - 15 grams for a strong trip. Try to eat them raw on an empty stomach for best results, or crumble then and boil them gently for 20 minutes to make a tea, which can be sweetened (with honey, not sugar).

WARNING

Avoid using when pregnant or nursing, when depressed, on medication or in combination with stimulants or alcohol. Also avoid driving motorized vehicles. Not suitable for under-18s. If it’s your first time on psilocybin it’s a good idea to have a friend with experience to be with you in case you feel nauseous or anxious. Do not repeat a trip for at least a week – not because it’s dangerous but because it’s a waste of money! The body rapidly builds up a tolerance for psilocybin so taking a fresh dose too soon after the last one will have no effect.
