Kratom, Minus the Guesswork
What Kratom Actually Is
Kratom is the dried leaf of Mitragyna speciosa, a tall tropical tree that grows across Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia. The leaves hold around 40 alkaloids, led by mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine, and their balance shifts with the harvest and the drying method. That balance is what separates one strain from another, which is why the vein colour on the label tells you more than the brand name does.
Powder or Capsules? Pick Your Format
Kratom powder is the cheapest per gram and lets you weigh exactly what you want. The catch: it tastes bitter and earthy, like overbrewed green tea with a grudge. Extract capsules skip the taste entirely and run from 45 to 95 mg of mitragynine each, with our 95 mg capsule being the strongest single dose we carry. Microdosing tablets go the other way at 12 mg apiece, and kratom tea covers the traditional route. Extracts are not the place to start, though: learn your powder dose first, then scale up.

Maeng Da, Explained
Maeng Da is not a region but a grade: leaves selected for high alkaloid content. It is the name we get asked about most, and the reason all four of our vein colours come in a Maeng Da version. If you are choosing between Maeng Da Green powder and something like the Bali 15x extract, take the powder first. The extract hits harder per gram, but you will not know what harder means until you know your baseline.
The Old-School Shelf
We still carry the classics: Thai 15x extract and kratom resin, the pliable black ball you dissolve in hot water or chew straight. Resin is niche these days, but the people who rate it would not swap it for anything in a capsule.
