Eva Seeds describes itself as a collective rather than a founder-led brand, and it has been putting out seeds since 2005 from its base in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, just outside Barcelona. What it sells itself on is flowering time.

Who are Eva Seeds

The company's own pitch is that it holds some of the fastest varieties on the market, and our catalogue backs that up. Jamaican Dream is a photoperiod plant that finishes in 6 to 7 weeks, which is autoflower territory without any ruderalis in the mix. Gorilla Candy and Black Dream both come in at 7 to 8. The wider Eva Seeds range includes autoflowering and limited-edition regular seeds, but everything we carry here is feminized and photoperiod.

What makes Eva Seeds different

Two things. First, the range leans sativa hard: five of the eight are sativa-dominant or a straight 50/50 split, which is unusual for a Spanish bank. High Level is the extreme case at 100% sativa, a Lesotho landrace crossed with Skunk Haze, and it is mould, pest and drought resistant on top. Second, they breed inside their own family tree. Missing In Barcelona is High Level crossed back with the original Blueberry, and Black Dream is Jamaican Dream crossed with Black Domina.

Missing In Barcelona is the strongest thing here at 21% THC, with a sweet citrus and tropical nose and up to 600 gr/m2 indoors. Gorilla Candy pairs Gorilla Glue 4 with Papa's Candy for a sweet, spicy, faintly coffee-ish smell and clears 1000 gr per plant outdoors. Growing Eva Seeds: what to expect

Six of the eight are rated Moderate, so this is not the most beginner-proof brand on the shelf. Monster is the exception and the honest warning at the same time: it is rated Easy and clears 1000 gr per plant outdoors, but it stretches to 400 cm and returns only 200 gr/m2 indoors. It is an outdoor plant, whatever the indoor column says. Flowering across the range runs 6 to 11 weeks, and two strains, Black Dream and Gipsy Haze, do not publish a THC figure at all.
