Jack's Cleaner 2 is a back-crossing based on the notorious Jacks Cleaner, which is a complex genetic blend of Pluton, Purple Haze, Lambsbread, Northern Lights and a male Jack Herer plant. TGA Subcool combined that high yielding Sativa variety with his Jack The Ripper to create a plant for those in search for the holy grail of a Lemon Haze. Tall plant with very potent fruits.
TGA Subcool - Jack's Cleaner 2: Variety with a highly complex genetic background
Jack's Cleaner 2 is a back-crossing based on the famed Jack's Cleaner, a highly sought after variety with a long history and a very complex genetic background. In 1994 TGA Subcool got his hands on a bunch of seeds from a strain called Skoosh, which was a blend of Pluton, Purple Haze, Lambsbread, Northern Lights, but he was not really impressed by the plants those seeds sired.
After a year of bringing up only spindly thin Sativas, he finally found a few of a phenotype that stood out and he grew them to maturity. These were extremely resinous and had an intense lemon aroma. The smell reminded him of a household cleaner named "Mr Clean," so he named that phenotype "The Cleaner." The only downside of those plants were the thin stems and the small stature. Only by luck he created what would become known as the holy grail of Lemon Haze. He had placed a male Jack Herer in his dark garage, but the plant refused to die, so he decided to give it the chance to reproduce and put a little 24cm "The Cleaner" clone next to it. The result were 35 seeds. From these he selected the best female plant and the legendary Jack's Cleaner was born.
Now TGA Subcool took that high yielding Sativa variety and combined it with his Jack The Ripper to create a plant for those in search for a Jack's Cleaner for their own grow-room or garden. And, oh boy, he created another true gem! The plants grow bigger than the original and produce high yields, while retaining the extremely intense lemon flavor and aroma. A few phenotypes have a slightly less lemony aroma, owed to the Jack The Ripper influence, but even those taste and smell like a mouthful of lemon candy.
The plants perform best when topped and put on a 12/12 lighting schedule early. This avoids excessive stretching of the plants and is a guarantee for the plants to develop more lateral branches. After 8-10 weeks of flowering the plants have produced beautiful elongated and densely packed buds with only a few leaflets between the calyxes. The high is just what you expect from a high-grade Sativa, it goes straight to the head and lets your spirit fly through new dimensions, but there is also an Indica aspect to it, causing a mild body numbing and pain killing effect.
