The Number On The Label Is A Weight Ratio

Extract vs dried herb vs tincture

Dried herb is the plant material, unchanged apart from drying. An extract concentrates that material by weight, so a small amount stands in for a much bigger pile of raw leaf or root, which is why people buy extracts rather than whole herb. A tincture is that concentrate held in liquid in a dropper bottle.

How to read a multiplier

A 10x extract was made from ten times its own weight in dried plant material, a 25x from twenty-five times. Read that number within one species, not across the shelf: plant part, solvent and method all differ, so the 20x on Salvia Extract 20x tells you about salvia leaf and nothing about a 20x blue lotus resin.

How to read a ratio

The 8:1 that Foodsporen prints on its lion's mane is the same idea written differently: eight parts fruiting body reduced into one part extract. Where a product carries a standardised alkaloid figure instead, like the minimum 5% total alkaloids on Nano Kanna Extreme, that is the more precise signal.

Kanna: From Nano Kanna To Kanna Extreme

Five kanna products, all Sceletium tortuosum grown and sourced in South Africa. Nano Kanna is the full-spectrum entry, 2.5% total alkaloids minimum with mesembrine at 60% of the alkaloid share. Nano Kanna Extreme is the concentrated one: minimum 5% total alkaloids, 95% of those mesembrine, organic and made under cGMP with a Certificate of Analysis per batch. Kanna Extreme is the full-spectrum heavyweight, Kanna Extract UC2 its own standardised extract, and Kanna 10x the classic ratio version. There is no 50x kanna here.

The 50x on this shelf is African Dream Herb, Entada rheedii, a seed rather than a leaf. Calea zacatechichi sits beside it as a 10x extract. Both are grouped by the traditional names they arrived with, not by any effect we promise.

Salvia's Strength Ladder, Blue Lotus In Three Formats

Salvia divinorum leaf extracts, built around salvinorin A, climb in steady steps: 10x, 15x, 20x, 30x, 40x and 80x, with Salvia Extract 40x near the top of that ladder. Blue lotus (Nymphaea caerulea) comes three ways, and the format matters more than people expect: a 25x powder extract, a 20x resin, and a 15x tincture in a dropper bottle. Banisteriopsis caapi is stocked as a 15x resin, dark and tacky rather than pourable.

How to use extracts responsibly

Everything here is for adults of 18 and over. Do not combine kanna with other stimulants, sleep aids, antidepressants, MAOIs, SSRIs or other substances acting on the central nervous system, and speak to a qualified medical professional first, especially if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, on prescription medication, or have a personal or family history of mental health conditions.
