Optimal Vape Temperature

Passionflower (Passiflora incarnata) is a genus of about 550 species of plants from the Americas, which have long been used in traditional medicine. Passionflower species are generally vines, though some are trees or shrubs. The plants tend to produce distinctive, iridescent flowers, which ripen into passionfruit. The nutritionally-dense passionfruit can be broken open and eaten, or can be mixed with water and sugar to produce a drink.

Spanish explorers came across passionflower during their conquest of the Americas. They brought the genus back to Spain, where it’s been naturalized and continues to be used for medicinal purposes. The Spanish coined the name “passionflower” because they felt the flower resembles a crucifix, which they associate with the passion of Christ.

Passionflower species have a wide range of medicinal effects. The incarnata species has long been prized by Native Americans for helping with insomnia, pain, anxiety and epilepsy. One study found that purple passionflower was as effective at treating anxiety as oxazepam, a pharmaceutical benzodiazepine. Incarnata raises brain levels of GABA, which calms the mind. Another study found that it improved sleep quality in people suffering from sleep disturbances. Incarnata is the most common type of passionflower used medicinally in the US and Europe, and in addition to the conditions already mentioned, is used to treat menstrual cramps, muscles cramps, neuralgia, alcoholism, rapid heartbeat, spasms and seizures.

In South America, edulis is the most common type of passionflower used medicinally, to treat a similar set of conditions. Parents sometimes prepare it as a fruit drink and give it to hyperactive children.

Though these two passionflower species are particularly popular, the medicinal benefits of the genus extend into many other species. Foetida, for example, has been shown to alleviate ulcers in rats.

Many passionflower species are high in beta-carboline harmala alkaloids, or harmines, a family of MAO inhibitors also found in Ayahuasca. Common harmines found in passionflower include harman, harmaline, harmalol, harmine and harmol.

Other active compounds found in passionflower species include flavonoids, coumarin, maltol, apigenin, saponarin, and quercetin.

A common method of preparation is to take the leaves and turn them into herbal teas. Some users will grind the leaves and place them in capsules for more precise dosing. Passionflower leaves can also be used to make tinctures. Dosage needed will depend on the specific species used, and the condition being treated. Passionflower treatment can interfere with prescription medication, so talk to your doctor before you try it.

    Not for me
I vaped it and made tea but I feel nothing. Doesent work for me.

First i removed big stems and left them for tea, other parts are suitable for vaping, if you want to make capsulles just use coffee grinder.

    Good for ceremonies and tea
    As always perfect

Has to be your cup of tea
It has a very herby smell and flavor. Nice during trips, but most people will probably have to develop a taste for it
