What a food supplement is, and what it is not

A food supplement is a concentrated ingredient in a measured format, and it is not a medicine. We make no health claims about anything on this shelf. Every listing names the ingredient, the amount per serving and the intake line from its own label.

Four families share this corner: functional mushrooms as capsules, tinctures, gummies and granulate, vitamins and minerals, plant and amino supplements, and the dosing gear. Adaptogen and nootropic appear as category labels on some listings, used as shelf words, not as a statement of effect.

Mushrooms in a Bottle: Lion's Mane, Reishi and the Power 5 Blend

Lion's Mane (Hericium erinaceus) turns up three ways: capsules with 400 mg of 8:1 extract, a tincture, and gummies with 400 mg of 10:1 extract per daily serving of two, taken before or during a meal per the label. Cordyceps, Reishi, Chaga and Agaricus blazei each come as capsules or tincture, the Power 5 blend comes in both formats, and Mushroom Gummies Forest Berries is a 60-chew pack of Lion's Mane, Chaga, Reishi and Cordyceps.

Functional mushroom supplements: fruiting body, not processed mycelium

The lines come from Foodsporen and from Zamnesia, so two takes on one species can sit side by side. Foodsporen bottle their Lion's Mane capsules from an 8:1 fruiting-body extract and state plainly that they do not use processed mycelium. Hericenone and erinacine are named on those labels, nothing more.

Vitamins, Minerals, Roots and Aminos, Row by Row

Vitamin and mineral rows: Vitamin C, B12, B Complex, vitamin E softgels, Vega D3, Calcium Magnesium and Zinc, Magnesium Citrate, Omega 3 and Vega Omega. On the plant and amino side: Maca, Turmeric and Orthosiphon, Chlorella and Spirulina, Quercetin Extract, Berberine, MSM, L-Arginine, L-tyrosine, Caffeine and Green-Lipped Mussel Extract, plus Natural Detox with milk thistle, turmeric and BioPerine. Withania somnifera, Panax ginseng, guarana and bacopa

Ashwagandha is Withania somnifera, here as a 4:1 root extract at 300 mg per capsule, one capsule a day with water, preferably before a meal, per its label. Withanolides are the compounds that listing names. One plant blend puts Panax ginseng, guarana and bacopa together with vitamin B6 on its panel.

GABA with L-theanine, and the StressLess oral spray

GABA is listed at 700 mg with 100 mg L-theanine. StressLess is an oral spray, 50 mg ashwagandha and 200 mg reishi, sprayed into the mouth rather than swallowed.

5-HTP and L-tryptophan on the amino row

5-HTP and L-tryptophan sit side by side on the amino row: 75 mg of 5-HTP from Griffonia simplicifolia seed extract, and 1000 mg of L-tryptophan per two capsules, with the L-Tryptophan with B6 listing alongside.

Capsule, Tincture or Chew, and What 10:1 on a Label Means

An extract ratio is a concentration figure. A 10:1 extract means 10 kg of raw mushroom went into 1 kg of finished extract, so 400 mg of 10:1 and 400 mg of 8:1 did not start from the same amount of material.
