What is Wedding Cake?

Wedding Cake (also sold as Pink Cookies or Triangle Mints) came out of Southern California in the mid-2010s, bred by Seed Junky Genetics, the outfit run by JBeezy. The original cut crosses Triangle Kush with Animal Mints, and that's the family tree our own Zamnesia Seeds version follows. Look at the Royal Queen Seeds, Barney's Farm and Original Sensible versions though, and the data sheets say Girl Scout Cookies x Cherry Pie. Both trees are real: breeders rebuilt the strain from different directions, and since Animal Mints itself carries GSC blood, every version lands in the same Cookies family. It went on to mother an entire line of Cake strains, Ice Cream Cake being the best known.

Effects and flavour

Break a dried bud apart and you get sugared dough, vanilla and a sour, almost cheesy edge, with caryophyllene adding pepper and limonene a squeeze of citrus. The effect is indica-dominant comfort: a warm, heavy body stone that creeps up over ten minutes, with enough euphoria on top to keep a film or a conversation going. Next to Gelato, its cousin from the same family, Wedding Cake trades the creamy sweetness for more funk and a heavier landing.
