It's borosilicate glass throughout, which means it handles heat and cleaning better than standard glass and feels noticeably more solid in the hand. The beaker base gives it a low centre of gravity, so it sits steady on a desk or table without needing a stand. Drop a few ice cubes through the top and the built-in ice catcher holds them in place, cooling the draw before it reaches you. Compared to a basic straight-tube at this price, the beaker shape also holds more water, which smooths things out further. The one thing to keep in mind: it's still glass, so treat it accordingly.
