High quality silicon, well made item, though the design has features different from the wire infuser I used so far: because of where the holes are, which is the bottom of the infuser, the infuser keeps floating at the top, this could be considered a fault, but also a plus, since the water remains the hottest on top, you judge or yourself, bad for green tea, but good for herbs that require hot for longer
