Tornado Steals Weed Plant

When a cannabis plant goes missing, no one on the farm could believe what had happened until the video footage was reviewed. Mother nature had had some fun with Siskiyou Sungrown farms.

Weed Tornado!

When a single Cannabis plant goes missing on a pot farm, one may begin having ideas of who or what took it. Who would come up with the idea that a small tornado swooped up the plant and tossed it over a 8'/2.44 meter fence and threw it beyond 50'/15.24 meters probably not, but that is what happened at the Siskiyou Sungrown farm in Oregon.

Missing plant

Michael Johnson was cooking dinner when he received a call.

“When an employee came to report that a tornado touched down on our medical plot and threw a 6′ x 6′ medical marijuana plant out of the ground, up into the air, over an 8′ fence, and 50′ South into our recreational grow, I surely didn’t believe him,” stated Michael Johnson, the chief operating officer of Siskiyou Sungrown. Until I checked the security camera footage and saw the weed tornado” (Baca, 2016).

Was it a Tornado?

The national weather service actually reported that it was a dust devil or whirlwind, not an actual tornado. It turns out these type of whirlwinds are quite common in the dry and hot area. An actual tornado would have caused a lot more damage than simply moving around a cannabis plant.

Michael Johnson could not stop laughing when he reviewed the video footage the next morning after the incident. The plant had been dropped from the medical growing section of the farm to the recreational part of the farm, so they had to add the uprooted plant to the compost waste pile. Those are the rules.

It was an extremely rare incident and the entire farm enjoyed the fun of mother nature. Siskiyou Sungrown farmers will be sure to remember this story for a long time.
