The many and varied effects of psychoactive substances can be mystifying. For those with a skill in art, they can also be an inspiration, as Pixel Pusha demonstrates.

Recreational drugs have inspired a lot of creativity throughout the ages. Music, art, technology, and even business innovations have all benefited from their use. Well, graphic designer Brian Pollett, also known as Pixel-Pusha across the net, decided he would tap into this creativity, creating 20 illustrations over 20 days, each inspired by the use of a particular drug.

He doesn’t hold back, using a whole variety of different drugs to influence his art, including psychedelics, stimulants and sedatives.

According to Pollett, the idea behind the project is to educate, whether about drugs or art.

So look on at the illustrations, which depict the same scene, but with the guiding hand of different drugs in each. They are quite marvellous!
