EmmaSofia: Manufacture Legal & Free MDMA & Psilocybin Pills
The Norwegian non-profit organisation EmmaSofia wants to make both medical grade MDMA and psilocybin more readily available. And they want your help to do it.
In the last few years, psychedelic based medical research has been coming on in leaps and bounds. However, it is not an easy task, and scientists looking to investigate the matter must jump through an untold amount of hoops in order to do so. This is no more prevalent than the trouble most scientists have actually getting hold of the drugs in question, as medical grade supplies are severely limited.
EmmaSofiais hoping to change this. EmmaSofia is a Norwegian non-profit organisation that advocates the use of both MDMA and psychedelics for therapeutic use, as well as campaigns for the relaxation of laws surrounding their availability. They believe so strongly in their use that they want to start produces the drugs themselves, creating a free medical grade supply for any scientific researcher struggling to find some.
To make this dream a reality, EmmaSofia recently ran an Indiegogo campaign to try and crowd-source the funds they require to establish a lab to do so. Unfortunately they failed to hit their mark, raising $20,000 of the $300,000 minimum they wanted, but it has not dissuaded them. They are continuing to explore funding options to get their production lab started up. This includes a string of Indiegogo campaigns with much smaller targets, allowing them to secure the funding they need bit by bit.
Despite the growing body of positive research, many worry that psychedelics are extremely dangerous, and have no place in medicine. A lot of this worry and risk associated with psychedelics comes from impure and adulterated drugs, as well as taking them in potentially hazardous situations. Organisations like EmmaSofia are slowly breaking the stigma surrounding the subject, and ensuring the supply used is a high grade and safe one. The way thing are currently going, psychedelic assisted therapy is not a question of ‘if’ but a question of ‘when’. The growing amount of research is undeniable, and the slow acceptance of safe drug use combined with the resulting trend in relaxing drug policy will likely see psychedelics become a mainstream tool within the next few decades. The people at EmmaSophia just help us reach that point faster!
