French fries & cannabis mayo?

When Albert van Beek, owner of the Dutch chain of chip shops, was asked by AFP of the France-based Relaxnews why he decided to bring the invention to his stores, his reply was simple.

Don’t be surprised if the next time you find yourself flipping through the menu pages at a Manneken Pis chip shop, you come across “cannabis mayonnaise.”

When Albert van Beek, owner of the Dutch chain of chip shops, was asked by AFP of the France-based Relaxnews why he decided to bring the invention to his stores, his reply was simple.

“It’s just about the taste,” he said, referring to the coffee shop across the location he works at. Beek explained how the sweet smell of cannabis had enticed him and his customers daily as they enjoyed their chips, and his taste-driven mind clicked and made the connection.

Beek assured AFP and his customers that the new cannabis mayo will NOT get you stoned, or high, or even buzzed. It doesn’t have any THC, and the cannabis is simply for flavor. And his frequenters seem to agree with Beek’s taste, praising his stores’ food with claims such as “best chips in Amsterdam.”

Customers rushing to stores seeking the newest chip-based marijuana rush will be disappointed once they read the menu’s strong assertion of the mayo’s zero psychoactive effects. But the average customer looking to take his taste buds on a wild ride will take great delight in Manneken Pis’ new addition.
