Take your yoghurt from boring to soaring with our hash yoghurt recipe. Using just a few pieces of equipment, some hash, and your favourite yoghurt, you can create a tasty and potent edible in mere minutes! Read on to find out how to make your own hash yoghurt at home.

Making cannabis edibles can be an elaborate, time-consuming project, or it can be wonderfully simple. In this article, we’re focusing on the latter with our easy recipe for single-serving hash yoghurt. All you need is a container of your favourite yoghurt, some high-quality hash, and a couple of other pieces of equipment to experience a powerful high. Let’s get into it!

How to make hash yoghurt at home

In what follows, we'll break down two simple recipes for whipping up hash yoghurt at home. The first method is more reliable but also slightly more involved, while the second method is for those looking to keep things as simple as possible.

Ingredients & equipment

Ingredients & Equipment

  • Single-serving container of yoghurt (~113–170g)
  • 0.5g high-quality hash
  • 1–2 tbsp coconut oil or butter
  • Medium pan
  • Spoon
  • Storage container or small bowl (optional)

Regarding the type of yoghurt you use, the choice is up to you. Perhaps consider something on the thicker side, like Greek yoghurt, or pair up a flavoured yoghurt to match or balance out the aroma and taste of your hash.

Directions

1. Heat the coconut oil or butter in the pan over low–medium heat. Once melted, crumble in the hash, stirring it around with a spoon so it’s covered by the oil. From here, heat the hash and oil mixture for around three minutes, just until everything is melted and combined. This process decarboxylates the THC, making it psychoactive, and allows the cannabinoids to bind to the fat, making them easier for the body to absorb once consumed.

2. Now, turn off the heat and add your yoghurt of choice to the pan. Mix the entire concoction thoroughly so everything is evenly distributed.

Direction 2

3. From here, move your hash yoghurt into a container and store it in the fridge until cool.

4. Enjoy!

Alternative method

A quicker alternative involves only a spoon, hash, yoghurt, a lighter, and coconut oil. It’s worth noting that, though it’s less involved, this method comes with a risk of burning your fingers, so be careful!

1. Start by putting a dollop of coconut oil on your spoon. Now, crumble the hash on top.

Alternative Method 1

2. Next, take a lighter and (carefully) heat the bottom of the spoon. Continue heating until the hash and oil melt and combine—this should take just a few minutes at most. Use a toothpick or something similar to give it all a little stir.

Alternative Method 2

3. Once you’re satisfied with the mixture, simply mix it into your container of yoghurt, and voilà!

Alternative Method 3

A note on consumption

When making hash yoghurt, there are a few factors to consider in order to avoid an unpleasant or unsuccessful outcome.

Dosing

Dosing

Edibles can be extremely potent, especially when hash is involved. Devouring half a gram of hash in one sitting will initiate a strong high that may be too much for some. If you’re looking for a slightly milder experience, either decrease the amount of hash you use, or don’t finish the entire container in one go. Alternatively, use a larger container of yoghurt to spread out your hash over multiple servings.

Decarboxylation

Both of the above-mentioned methods should ensure proper decarboxylation of the hash, but make sure you give it enough time to melt and combine with the oil or butter. Failing to do so will result in you feeling nothing at all. On the other hand, if you heat your hash for too long at too high a temperature, this can degrade the THC and make for a weaker experience. It’s a bit of a balancing act achieving peak decarboxylation, but by following the directions above, you should be just fine.

Burning fingers

Regarding our recipe for hash-infused yoghurt using a spoon and lighter, you need to be exceptionally careful to avoid burning your hands. As you need to heat the spoon for a few minutes, the lighter itself, not to mention the spoon, can get very hot and cause some serious burns. If you feel unsure or nervous about this, opt for the method that uses a cooking pan instead.

Hash Yoghurt: An Easy Way To Get Sky-High

Yoghurt is a great vessel for creating a quick, potent edible using a stash of hash. While there are admittedly more refined edibles out there, hash yoghurt takes the difficulty and time out of getting your buzz on. Just be sure to follow the directions and exercise caution, and you’ll have a psychoactive snack ready to go in no time!
