Wild Lettuce - Lactuca virosa
Wild lettuce (Lactuca virosa), also known as opium lettuce and great lettuce, is a herb native to South and Central Europe - but has since spread to many regions of the world. This dried wild lettuce is ideal for brewing into a tea.

EFFECTS
The effects of wild lettuce are very similar to opium, but milder in nature. However, the active compounds of wild lettuce are not opioids, and do not cause addiction.
Wild lettuce has also historically been used to improve the vividness of dreams.
USING WILD LETTUCE
The best way to use wild lettuce is to brew it into a tea. Place 1-2 teaspoons in a cup or tea infuser, and fill with boiling water. Allow it to steep for 10-15 minutes before drinking.
It is also possible to make an extract from this dried wild lettuce. Soak the plant matter in warm water (not boiling) for 8 hours. Sieve out the plant matter and press it. The dark liquid that is pressed out is then put in a bain-marie to evaporate excess liquid. You should eventually be left with a gummy, thick substance.

okay as a tea
Tried smoking and vaping but there was not much of an effect. As a tea it's a bit relaxing though and the taste is not too bad. So that's what it is.

Nice calming tea
A good calming tea for when it's too late to drink coffee. I put 3 tablespoons of herbs in hot water to brew.
