Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera): Easily Accessible Herb

Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) is an evergreen shrub that belongs to the nightshade family. It has been prized for its various properties and used in traditional Indian holistic practices for centuries. Nowadays, it's a popular dietary supplement that you can find in many forms in wellness stores worldwide.

It's very easy to use ashwagandha with these 50g shredded root or powder packets that you can seal after opening to preserve the contents. Prepare a tea by steeping the shredded root in hot water. The drink will have an earthy, bitter flavour, but you can try various ways to improve the experience. For example, steeping the herb with a tea that you like and/or adding some honey can go a long way. Powder can be added to honey or ghee, but it also works well in tea.

General dosing recommendations are to take 250–500mg of ashwagandha a day for extended periods of time. Before supplementing with this herb, you should seek a doctor's advice if you are taking any prescribed medication, are pregnant, or breastfeeding. Not suitable for children under 18. As the plant can potentially cause drowsiness, don't drive after consuming it.

Store in its original packaging in a dry, cool, and dark place, away from children.
