Bomb Seeds - Killer Purps: A Visually Beautiful Cultivar

Every strain has something that makes it unique. Some cultivars feature tastes that set them apart from the rest, whereas others produce outlandish levels of specific cannabinoids. Killer Purps by Bomb Seeds falls into a different category altogether. This stunning specimen stands out from the crowd in numerous ways, with the most obvious being her deep purple leaves. Her frosty white flowers — a colour that reflects her massive trichome production — contrast the leaves, making them jump out even more.

Her striking looks, after which she is named, is only one reason Killer Purps is attractive to breeders and seed colletors. Let’s get to know this beauty.

A FAMILIAR FAMILY TREE: A GENETIC ANALYSIS OF KILLER PURPS

Killer Purps is a sativa-dominant hybrid that was brought into the world by breeders seeking something beautiful. Their primary goals were to produce an aesthetic cultivar high in THC and sativa genetics. They selected two of the most beautiful strains out there to get the job done.

Parent strain and superstar Sour Diesel was selected for her sativa profile and resin production. This classic Cali variety was bred using a rich mixture of genetics, including Diesel, Hawaiian, Northern Lights, and Shiva. She’s a productive variety that produces a 19% THC profile and an electrifying high. These desirable traits led her to victory at the Cannabis Cup.

Killer Purps breeders found their sativa foundation in Sour Diesel, but they still needed a source of colour. They selected the bright and brilliant Buzz Bomb to accomplish this task. Typically, this sativa-dominant cultivar displays a dark green complexion, but a rare purple phenotype was used to inject some colour into Killer Purps.

Buzz Bomb contributed more than looks into the mix. She also boasts a THC value of 20% and a terpene profile defined by rich sweet and spicy notes. The cultivar is the descendant of parent strain Bomb 1 and an unknown variety.

A WAKE AND BAKE VARIETY: THE EFFECTS OF KILLER PURPS

Killer Purps is a vastly sativa-dominant strain that produces a THC content of between 19–21%. Her irregularly shaped flowers get to work early in the flowering phase. They pump out large quantities of resin that exerts a profound head high.

It doesn’t take much to until these effects are apparent. A couple of tokes from a blunt or a single bong bowl will widen the eyes and speed up the thought process. Killer Purps’ stimulating and alerting effects wake up the mind and motivate users to get the day started. She’s an ideal wake and bake strain and will augment the effects of your morning coffee.

If you want to take her energising effects one step further, use her buds to craft extracts and oils. High doses of her essence border on the psychedelic and plunge users into a philosophical headspace.

Getting a whiff of Killer Purps is a treat for the olfactory system. Scents of sweetness, diesel, citrus, and skunk are incredibly apparent. She inherited most of these aromas from Sour Diesel, who passed down large quantities of the terpenes linalool, caryophyllene, and limonene.

GORGEOUS FLOWERS AND AN IMPRESSIVE YIELD: GROWING KILLER PURPS

Growing Killer Purps is a pleasant experience from seed to harvest. The cultivar does well both indoors and outdoors and has an average flowering time of 10 weeks.

Indoor plants produce a substantial yield of 400-450g/m² and grow to a varying height of 90–140cm. Plants grown outdoors produce medium yields and will be ready to harvest during the end of October.
