A mix of 50% sand, 25% grit or bims and 25% regular potting soil has proven to the best growing medium for these types of special cacti.

Gute Keimrate

Good
3 germinated; I think it is because I don‘t sterilized the substrate
It's not as easy sometimes, if you don't see something after 3 weeks don't give up
I germinated all of the seeds at different times
The first set I planted was in March so it was quite cold and one night the heat matt turned off and they died over night which was more sad then I thought it would be haha
I planted more in April in South facing sun this time in my warm living room
After 3 weeks nothing had happened
I presumed the seeds would not germinate
Out of laziness I left the cup on my desk and a week later I was sitting in my room and out of the corner of my eye notice this green ball in the cup
Could not believe it there It was 1 with another coming up beside it!
A mistake I made with the first lot was I put too many holes or too large on week 3 or 4 and that also killed them
This time I only put 3 or 4 holes in the top with a small needle and another 3 the week after
I also put them in with a blue/red grow light I have now so they are starting to grow large and ball shaped
A 3rd also decided to join the 2 now so all 3 of the seeds in the cup germinated
These guys defo are a little vulnerable to condition changes
Hope you guys grows work out better
I used a plastic ice coffee cup with plastic over the top and a band holding it together
This worked better then a lunch box I also tried to use
You can see online people using cups
The manual included with this is very good too!
Good seeds
Tried planting them with no prior experience. Most of them germinated and I've not seen any issue sso far
I sowed 20 seeds 3 weeks ago, 5 of them started to sprout. nice little greenish balls
Works well
Everything came as expected
