However, if you have a machine like the MB2e by your side, you can effectively skip these steps and move right on to making your space cakes (as explained in step 5 of this recipe). Moreover, by making cannabis butter beforehand, you can make sure the product has been sufficiently strained of excess plant matter for the best-tasting experience.

1. Preheat your oven to 110°C. Whether you’re using bud or hash, spread out your ground-up or crumbled material on a sheet pan lined with parchment, and allow it to decarboxylate in the oven for around 30–40 minutes. Stir the material about halfway through the process to allow for even decarbing.

2. Once you've removed the tray from the oven, turn the temperature up to 190°C (375°F).

3. Now, microwave your butter in a small heatproof bowl for about 20 seconds, or until you see it turn into a spreadable consistency. If you don't have a microwave, heat the butter over low heat on the stove until it reaches a similar consistency.

4. Add your ground-up bud or crumbled hash to the butter, and incorporate it well. Take your time here.

5. In a medium bowl, combine your sugar and eggs very well. This is achievable using a whisk, but is much faster with a handheld mixer. Then, add in the flour, baking powder, and dash of salt. Next, mix in the cannabutter, followed by the milk. You know you’re doing it right if your cake batter isn’t too lumpy. If it’s too soggy, add a little more flour. If it’s too dry, add more milk.

6. Take your cake or cupcake pan and spray it with some oil or grease it with margarine/butter to prevent the batter from sticking. Now, pour in your batter.
