Sweet, spiced, and irresistibly fragrant, cannabis-infused apple pie is comfort food with a twist. This recipe transforms a classic dessert into an elevated edible that’s warm, buttery, and satisfying in every bite. Whether you’re serving it for a relaxed evening treat or a special gathering, it delivers all the flavor of traditional apple pie with a mellow cannabis effect.
Apple pie is one of the easiest desserts to adapt into an edible. By swapping regular butter for cannabutter, you can infuse the pie with THC or CBD while keeping that golden crust and sweet, spiced filling you love. You can make the traditional pie version or a quick, lighter strudel for a faster fix. Both are equally delicious.
Cannabis-infused apple pie recipe
Ingredients
For the pie crust
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup (1 stick) cold cannabutter
- ¼ cup ice-cold water
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
For the apple filling
- 5–6 medium apples (Granny Smith or your preferred type), peeled, cored, and sliced
- ½ cup sugar
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
- Pinch of salt
Optional quick strudel version
- 4–5 apples, peeled and sliced
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon cannabutter
- 1 tablespoon raisins
- Zest and juice of ½ orange
- 6 sheets of phyllo pastry or 1 sheet ready-rolled puff pastry
Directions
- Prepare the crust: In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in the cold cannabutter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Slowly add ice-cold water, one tablespoon at a time, mixing until the dough begins to hold together. Form into a ball, wrap in plastic wrap, and chill for at least 30 minutes.

- Make the filling: In another bowl, mix the sliced apples with sugar, flour, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a pinch of salt. Stir well until the apples are evenly coated.

- Assemble the pie: Preheat the oven to 350°F. Roll out half of the chilled dough on a floured surface and place it into a greased pie dish. Fill with the apple mixture, then roll out the second half of the dough to cover. Seal the edges, cut a few slits in the top crust, and brush lightly with melted cannabutter.

- Bake: Bake for about 45–50 minutes, until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbling. If the edges brown too quickly, cover them with foil. Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before slicing.

- Quick Strudel Option: If you prefer a lighter version, melt the cannabutter in a pan and sauté the apples, sugar, cinnamon, raisins, and orange zest for a few minutes until soft. Lay out phyllo (or puff) pastry sheets, spoon the filling in the center, fold and roll into a log, and brush with cannabutter. Bake at 400°F for 20–25 minutes until crisp and golden.

- Serve and enjoy: Serve warm with a scoop of ice cream or whipped cream. Start with a small slice and wait 45–90 minutes before having more, as edibles take time to take effect.

How to store
Leftover cannabis apple pie can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to four days. Warm slices in the oven or microwave before serving. The strudel version can be frozen for up to three months. Just thaw and reheat when ready to enjoy.
